Our editorial desk sets the topics, the tests and the scores. Nothing on this site is published because a merchant asked for it.
We buy the products we review. Where a merchant or agent supplies a sample, the review says so in the first paragraph, and the sample goes through the same measurement and timing steps as a paid order. Affiliate links do not enter the scoring conversation; scores are agreed before links are added to a page.
Every hands-on page names the editor who placed the order and the month of the last check. Claims about timing come from our own logs, not from a merchant's stated average. Where we rely on a merchant's published fee table, we say that we are quoting it and we show the date we read it.
